Pros: Good price, well made. Manufactured by one of the top two Laser Printer co in the world.

I have saved about 200 so far because I m not using an inkjet printer.

Print s on both sides easy to setup.

Other Thoughts: I do a lot of shipping, so I print my own labels. I also print a lot of documents. If you do the same, a laser printer is the only way to go. Don t bother buying an inkjet printer. Over 1 year I saved 200 just in ink alone. The wireless inkjet made by a camera company just sucked up the ink. I forget the name of the manufacturer that makes these printers for Samsung but they are one of the top 2 laser printer companies in the world. Now this model may not be discontinued but even the newer models will save you a ton of money. That s why companies corporations use laser printers. Samsung is a name you can trust.

Pros: Prints well when paper doesn t jam.

Cons: Jams more often than any other printer I have owned. On average, you can only print about 20 pages between paper jams.

Other Thoughts: It looks like this product is no longer carried, but I came here today to offer a lesson about reading other people s reviews. Before I bought this printer, I saw many complaints here about how often it jammed, and I scoffed at them. All printers jam sometimes, I thought; or, These people just aren t using the right paper.

Well, I ve had it for two years now. No printer should jam as often as this one does. Those other folks were right.

It s not a terrible printer. You get used to it after awhile. But next time, I ll give more credence to the negative reports in the reviews. Sometimes it s really true: where there s smoke, there s fire.

Rating: 4/5Good but networking can be hard

Pros: Great print quality. Paper jams are rare. After 8 months of moderate use, I haven t needed a toner replacement.

Cons: Setting a fixed IP is necessary. Otherwise, you have to re-add the printer every time the printer or router gets reset or turned off. If you have a very old or low-end router this may be difficult.

Other Thoughts: Set the fixed IP for this printer and it will be reliable and good quality.

Pros: It s quick, duplexes, Ethernet-connected and Linux-friendly. So far, it s everything I was hoping for in a printer.

Cons: Nothing cons stand out enough to have stuck in my memory over the last year.

Other Thoughts: If it lasts another 6 to 8 years with the light-duty I put it through I ll be a very satisfied customer.

Pros: Never an issue with this printer, this is my 3rd purchase for this model, one for my own use and 2 for my support clients. VERY easy to install configure the network options

Other Thoughts: also, have had NO trouble using toner re-fill kits with this model.

Pros: It was the cheapest laser printer with a network port I could find.

I had to manually add the printer to my CentOS 6 server but the drivers are already built-in no driver disk needed. That s a plus.

On my Ubuntu 11.10 workstation, if I browse for printers, it will show up, and I can then select and add it to the list of printers.

It is even easier on my wife s MacBook Pro running Lion. I didn t have to do anything at all. It automatically showed up in the list when I went to print. Nice.

Cons: I can confirm what others say that this printer wrinkles envelopes and curls paper. For the moment, this is just an annoyance. The paper envelopes are still usable.

Other Thoughts: I use this printer at home maybe once a week. Due to the wrinkling, I would find this printer unacceptable in an office environment.

Pros: bought one for a business not sure what to expect. easy to install, powersave mode, fast, quality output so got another to handle load of 4-6 reams per month. After a year to avoid drum maintenance issues rolled oldest to family member and got another for the business. Did this over the years ending up with 2 at the business plus the SCX 4826 and 5 at family homes.

Cons: While I never had any problems, I understand that 30,000 pages/month means 30,000/20 or 1500 pages/month is what it will handle, so when the 2855 was at a good price I got because of the 50,000 p/m duty cycle. One real CON is don t expect this to handle a lot of duplex printing. you will burn it out unless it is just an occcasional thing. PS: People who have connect problems didn t make the IP address static. We always marked the printers with a note with their IP address.

Other Thoughts: So, I have bought 6 or 7 of these including one that was refurbished for from 90 to 150 and none have failed and I get 5,000 page toner cartridges for 49 or I refill change out the chip for 30 to 35 25 at Xmas last year

Cons: Sometimes hard to keep on the home computer network, at times almost seems like it went to starbucks and then its back. Have had to reload drivers a few times either because it would rather share a driver through another networked computer than on direct IP. Had to ding one egg for this.

Other Thoughts: Less than a foot call so it fits on a book shelf.
